What’s the best deal you’ve gotten on cars or parts

-
Years ago I picked up a box of NOS mopar parts at a local flea market for $15. Ended up selling almost everything for around $1700. I kept the stuff I originally dug out before the guy told me to take the whole box.

Entirely too many great deals.. but here goes. 1st car: 70 B5 383 4spd n96 Superbee for $200 in 1981. Got a Cuda shaker hood with trim ring and a set of 70 Hemi exhaust manifolds for $200 in 1990. 71 318 Barracuda for $500 in 1990. Traded a 68 Volvo 4dr I paid 85 bucks for even up for a 71 383 4spd air grabber hood Road Runner less engine in 1989. 70 Road Runner 383 Torred, in 94 for $2500... much more killer deals.. last one.. 71 Barracuda body orange with orange bucket seat interior for a whopping $50.00 off a chick who was getting divorced.

I got a 2014 mustang Cirvini exhaust system with X pipe for free off Craigslist. I should have sold it off but instead I cut it up and installed it sounds killer.

I bought my first 65 Barracuda off the back row of our local Slowsmobile dealership in 1975, for $25. Battery was dead, so they swapped a good one in for me and I drove it home! In 1985, I bought a rust free 70 Challenger R/T roller for $75. It was a 383 4 spd car with factory air. FK5 with white interior. I had to sell it to be able to keep my house in 1989 when the ex wife left. I put it in Hemmings Motor News for $3500, and it went to Switzerland. The dude who bought it flew over here, junked out a C body and put a 383 and a 727 in it. He had to have it operable before he could get it into Switzerland. I saw pics of it on Moparts at a car show in Europe years later!

Hmmm, either the steering center link from an overturned barracuda I found in the woods or the time a lady with a disabled 65 dart let me swap my bent up trunk lid (with broken tail lens) with a straight one with two good lenses.

I picked up a excellent e-body wood steering wheel for $75, along with a b-body console that was all there, but needed cleaning/paint for $100. The wheel brought $375, and the console when renewed brought $750. I also took this air cleaner off this Ford cobra when I sold the car, cleaned it up, painted it and sold it for $1400. I also bought a rebuilt 440 about 7/8 years ago with 2x4's on a tunnel ram intake for $1600. Sold the intake and carbs for $400 so the 440 was a $1200 purchase. It turned out to be a dud I found, after I installed it in my '63 Polara.
I have purchase many cars over the years and can't tell you how many times people have include so many parts with the sale. I don't know if they wanted to remove reminders of the car they sold, or get stuff out of their garage. It has been like a cherry on top, and recoup some cash. I have to admit I don't include any-thing when I sell a car, sorry.:) (Need to find picture of that 440).

Traded a John Wayne picture for a 400 buck Snap on timing light. The picture sells for 119 bucks but I got it in a box of stuff a friend didn't want!I got it 2 days ago!

Back in the early days of eBay I bid on an unreserved auction for a Chrysler minivan. I won, no other bids. $1. Guy followed through. Sailed through a vehicle check, gave it to my sister in-law. She drove it for years.
