You actually did show the VIN pad in several pics, but none close enough to see a VIN. If you say it's smooth though, it is. One way to tell if it's a very early 833 non OD, is to check and see if a 904 slip yoke will slide into the tailshaft. I think it was 66-67 that used those yokes. The 68 ^ 833's used a 727 sized yoke. Good luck with the sale. :)

Can you please try cleaning the vin pad with a hand wire brush? I can make out a few numbers off my cell phone. There are numbers stamped on it, even if there are no vin numbers the type of transmission and build number from where it was made are always stamped on the pad, vin numbers get stamped after it is assigned to a car on the assembly line.

Good call, guys. a little brake cleaner and a wire brush revealed the casting numbers. Looks like a '70 case?
