What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?
Went to the machine shop today to check out my heads after they had them disassembled and cleaned, but before they started the valve job. There is a huge casting void under one of the exhaust valve seats, and hardly any seat material. It is a wonder it sealed at all. Also someone ground the chamber, again presumably because of a casting flaw? As I said, there was no evidence that the heads had ever been removed, so could this have been a factory fix? Fortunately I have two more heads, so we will pick the best one and use it instead.
