To nitrous or not?

I only ever messed with nitrous before in my old pulling truck. If you guys seen or heard how I ran it you'd cringe. I didn't gap rings on my hyper pistons, didn't go colder on my plugs, ran it off a push button, didn't use any safety modules....It was bad. I did however run VP110 and pulled timing out. All that on a plate system with 250 shot pills. I was young and dumb at that time. It did surprisingly hold together.

Back in 1985>'87 with my stock '71 340 + .590 sft cam, 850DP, H/Strip dominator int. 727/4200 stall, race hdrs I ran the Cheater N20 kit These were a very rich tune back then, .052n/.059f for 125hp, .073n/.082f for 175hp and .110/.110 for 250 which was really only around a 200 shot as orifice size was only .092.
I hit it off the line with a WOT switch every time and a main arming switch, timing was only pulled back 2 deg. to 34, I ran no special fuel, at that time we had 4 star fuel in UK which was around 97 ron, ran NGK -6 plugs, 1 step colder, ran every hp range pills to 250hp, never tipped a plug ever, went from 12.4na to 11.01 with 250 pills but could've gone quicker. Separate blue pump and line for N20 fuel@6psi, not necessarily needed. Today even with the F jet the same size as the N jet its a rich tune, a clean tune today is regarded as the F jet around 4>6 sizes smaller but it all depends on the motor tune/efficiency of heads etc., you don't need any special high octane fuel, its all in the retard as thats what kills motors not lean.
