66' Barracuda and 273 with headers
I new a guy, John B. back in the early 70's that had a 67 Dart GT 273 4 barrel, auto trans. Him and a real good buddy of mine Bob V. built that car into a low 13 screamer, the engine had home ported heads by John, and if I remember right it had around 12 to 12.5 to 1 compression, .500+ lift solid lifter cam, 1 5/8 cheepy headers, a Fairbanks converter, and a reverse manual valve body in the 904, and 4.30 gears in the 8 3/4, with 8.00/14 cheater slicks, and it was always shifted well north of 7 grand. That Dart put quite a few 327 and 350 Camaro's and Novas to shame. It was a fun car to ride around in on a Friday or Saturday night.
P.S. My vote is the Doug's 1 5/8 D-450 Headers or if you don't mind cutting out the fender wells, see if you could order a set of Hedman Husler 1 5/8 fender wells.
