Anyone have any ideas for a torque strap on a slant six? I'm just worried my new motor mounts will fail so wondering if a torque strap will help out. I'm thinking do it similar to V8's and have it mount to the K member with some poly bushings for a little cushion but where on the block would be the best place to mount to?

You can always use a length of chain. Old school cool.

How about steel motor mounts. I made some out of scrap metal laying around for my valiant

Like Rusty,A length of chain and a 3/8'' eye bolt.
Find a boss on the block. The power steering mount hole works if you have manual steering.Find the sway bar hole in the K frame or drill one. Using 2 nuts on either side of the K hole mount adjust the chain tension to you desire and lock down the nuts.
Look and you will see the chain mounted to the block just above the electric water pump motor and a bit of chain below the motor.Only photo I got but you'll get the idea

Thanks for the ideas guys!

So I have power steering so using those mounting holes are out and while solid mounts would have been the way to go I've already installed these new rubber ones so I'll work with what I have(should have done the bolt trick while they were out too).

I like the idea of a little cushion so I'm thinking of just copying the Schumacher V8 style strap. I'll build a bracket that mounts to the K member and bolt it to the engine mount bracket. Think there will be any issues that way?

Your body/frame will NOT like the vibration that solid engine mounts cause. That is for drag racing etc.

As others have said, simplest/safe method is a chain. To stop it rattling, slip some rad hose over it.
