Are Your Brake Lines Protected?

The unprotected picture looks like a diy job, nothing wrong with it; just saying it doesn’t loook factory based on how the bends look.

Uh huh, I was thinking same thing. Rather sloppy and line too short. Pic 5 much neater but could be aftermarket as well, due to lack of wire spring/wrap/armor guard. No idea why Mopar chose that method to 'protect' the tubing, when ironically it is that outer winding that can well shorten the life of inside tubing - mainly because it allows wet dirt to pack up in that area and, as nature would have it, seriously introduce premature corrosion. A better way may have been to apply a good rust coat paint. Of course the armor spring should allow easier bending, eliminating kinks, but there are good tools out there designed specifically for easy, safe, attractive bends (without 'silly' spring). Mopar applied this spring/armor to most underhood lines as well. It can look very nice, especially for a resto, so likely a matter of choice.
