Man, you're really getting into the fancy stuff! Very cool. The car is going to be soooo sweet! Oh, what's the adapter where the oil filter goes? Brand?

Typical of your work, top notch!
Beautiful...
Intimidating...
I'm almost ready to pay off my BMP block, which puts me about 4 months behind schedule. I'll be satisfied if I have the 541 built and in by 10/2022 now, because I think I may need that long, unless my income improves this year. I was hoping for 10/2021.

Kevin Alexander is putting together a 543 right now for his 1972 Imperial.

I'm guessing that's a little larger bore than the 4.50 with the same 4.25 stroke?
I'm calling it a 541 but it's a 540.7...

440 Source
4.500” stroke x 4.380" bore
Use 2.2” journals and barely clears the cam. Needs plenty of block clearancing and an external oil pickup.

That is something that stood out along with so much regarding the "new" design BMP aluminum block. 4.50" stroke w/out clearancing. I haven't discussed an external pump, but with a 4.25" stroke, I wouldn't expect to need or want one, besides, the Wraptor serpentine belt, pulleys, and accessories system may make adding any additional belt driven anythings to it..."challenging", especially for me. The work you're doing OTOH is outstanding and maybe you could come up with something if you had to.
Don't want to hijack!!
THANKS @mosleyme !!

an oil pump on a 440 is already external, so not a big deal. Milodon and others make pumps that allow you to bypass the internal pickup and connect to the pan from the outside.

You know, I had that in my mind, but it's a mess in there..:lol:
I'm not sure what was being asked, but it had to do with long stroke and the oiling system of a hemi.
EDIT: I "get it" it's the oil pickup!:realcrazy: Ok!

I hope all is well with you and yours.
Always hoping for an update on the amazing car you're getting together, especially the intake and fuel system.
:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Any updates on your Barracuda?
@mosleyme
Since my last few posts here and there on FABO I have ordered and paid for my rotating assembly, and since the (paid in full, yeah!) Bill Mitchell aluminum RB block (4.49 bore) doesn't require clearancing for a 4.5" stroke, and the builder recommended an external oil pickup anyway, and I'm not turning 7k RPMs with it, and 700 ft lbs torque over as wide as practical a RPM range as possible is my power goal, and the cost of the Molnar crank is the same for a 4.35 as a 4.5, I decided to go with the 4.5 stroke...
Hey, "572" sounds better than "541" anyway...
What is going on with your build?!?
I'm SO interested in the intake and EFI setup to see how it works!!
Let us know something!

Very little progress on the “home” project in the past year. Working on tooling up a new factory at work so busy as ever with no end in sight. Literally need to start taking time off from work so I can do car stuff. I accrue six weeks of vacation per year, should be able to manage something.

Managed to get the new rear brakes installed and unfortunately found out that my differential leak is the pinion seal. It’s a slow leak but I loathe 90 weight leaks.

Also bought a cool new part for the car.

I have Dakota Digital gauge clusters in both the 65 GTO and my 70 Roadrunner. There were speedo cable clearance issues in the GTO, so I used the DD version of that same device, a GPS based speedometer that converts data to mechanical rotation of the speedometer cable. Works great!

AC, tensioner, and alternator sorted out.

IMG_2636.jpeg

Tensioner is for a "2003 F150 4.2L V6"
Belt I wanted was for a Porsche 911 or a BMW M3; local store did not have it, but the 10mm (3/8") longer belt for a 2023 Stingray was in stock so I went with that option.
Alternator is for 1997-1998 Dodge pickup.

Great to see you working on her again!

So... Your awesome custom build and layout uses "common Auto Parts Stores' over-the-counter parts"...Excellent! Easy goin'!!
:thumbsup::poke::lol:
(although it requires a number of different manufacturers, models, and years to get them)
The belt may be the most challenging part to get in the future...Is that belt made of a composite material that holds up with age if stored properly?

my wife bought me a coolant recovery tank; it fits and clears stuff.
That's really considerate of her..
In this picture, is what appears to be a vertical tube I have indicated w/the yellow curly brace a fluid level indicator? If so, that's really handy!

It is a standard serpentine belt that fits 2023 Corvettes, Camaros, Cadillacs and trucks with 6.2L. I can get it at ANY local parts store in stock. Gates part # K060578
