Welcome to FABO Ron. Can you let us in on the long term plans?.....for starters, will it (maybe already is) be restored to "as built" ?

Yes going back as raced. It’s the first full chassis pro stock. Only pro stock ever built by nascar team. First of its kind for many things.
 
How far along has the project progressed? Are the pics posted above just a tease.
 
So it's the real deal Petty car. Badass.

The top pictures are as of now. I’ve removed much bondo out of it. Straightening the body. This car is about 6” wider than stock duster. Roof is 1.5 “ lower than stock. Look how flat back window sits and the car is 4” shorter than street car. It started as acid dipped body in white.

It has tube A arms and interchangeable rear suspension built in house by pettys. You can go from leafs. To leaf ladder to 3 link and 4 link in about 40 mins. Has nascar scavenge pump oil system.

at first I thought maybe the Petty crew attempted to eliminated the drip rails by filling them with bondo....but after looking at the earlier pics, I would guess that was done later.
 
It is no secret those NASCAR boys were / are pretty creative when it comes to moving things around. I keep looking at the pics and trying to find the extra 6" in width.

What is pictured in the photo by the bondo A pillar?

It’s 3” wider at each rear quarter panel.

That’s bondo. It’s gone now. Think it lost 200 pounds
