Slant 6 Aluminum Performance Head

Well as a follow up to my own letter last year. 2020!!! What the Heck? What I thought that we all could defeat with masks, social distancing etc. in a month or so, became a political and as of today a pandemic nightmare. I am sorry for everyone (myself included) who has suffered a loss, been sick or debilitated or had their jobs ripped away from them. The latter being myself.

-With that lead in, manufacturing of everything has been haphazard with long waits or discontinued items until further notice. Even Mighty Edelbrock has shifted and moved its foundry to another part of the country.
So an Aluminum Head as produced by the company that I was following is parked for now. I know CNC Dude here (and Robert Maw) have been working on the possibilities. I follow Robert Maw on FB and he has all but finished cutting the basic head out of billet aluminum blocks, so that is some progress. NOT the same as a huge International Foundry setting up and mass producing these at any price. But some progress.

Don't kill the messenger, I again am just a Slant 6 Fan exploring what's out there.

I have talked to the proposed and well known manufacturer and have at this point only seen prototypes.

I would be interested even if it meant inclusion of a special intake manifold (needed due to larger valve placement) and even further interested if it meant the necessary use of non factory exhaust.

If it hits the market it probably wont be cheap. The manufacturer is testing interest and is doing market studies before considering the big investment in development casting. There are many big foundries internationally that could pull this off, for a price.

I really am not trying to start "it" again on this sacred cow of a subject. I know that a Slant6AluminumHead would be exciting only if it meets potential performance gains as well as weight savings.

No hate mail please. I am a Slant Fan and am not trying to do anymore than to help check interest for the company. I say a well thought out Slant 6 Aluminum Performance Head would be the pinnacle of success for any Slant motor if done right.
