Can Motor Be Installed Without Removing Hood?

Change of plan, I installed the transmission first. Only problem now (with the motor installed today) is the 904 tail shaft is too far over to the passenger side as can be seen looking up at the tunnel.

I tried engine installation with the block motor mount brackets snugged up but found no fore/aft movement which made it impossible to drop the motor mounts in the K-member slots. Once I loosened the brackets on both sides, the motor mounts dropped in and the transmission torque convertor hub could finally mate with the crankshaft. Right now as it stands, the motor mount brackets are still as loose as I left them to accommodate the installation.
