This '65 Formula "S" uses the 2.5 inch TTI custom fitted exhaust with stock exhaust manifolds. The instructions suggested cutting off one of the parking brake cable brackets on the floor pan on the passenger side (but I could not find this stated on TTI's current website). I can see the shop that installed the exhaust did not cut off any brackets, but one of them on the passenger side appears to be smashed up closer to the floor pan (photo #1) than the bracket on the driver's side (photo #2).

The problem I see before re-installing the exhaust system is the cable rubbing on the driveshaft (photo #3). I don't know if that is a result of raising the rear suspension too high with the extra leaves that were added to the rear suspension or some other factor here. Maybe the installed exhaust system will pull the cable to a less vulnerable area (can't remember how it looked before disassembly three years ago).

Yes I cut mine off. I believe I welded it on further towards the rear of the car on the passenger side. I don't have my drive shaft in yet and I did this mock up over a year ago. I'll try to get some pics for you.

Is your rear axle hanging or is on stands? My cable does the same thing if the axle is just hanging. Clears once the axle is back at ride height.

My bet is that photo 1 should look like photo 2.

Got bent by something.

I converted my emergency brake to the later single front-to-rear cable from a Duster 340. Eliminated any interference with exhaust or driveshaft.

There's already a bracket on the left frame rail to hook up both rear cables. So all you need to convert is one long right side cable and the front-to-rear cable.

I did the same thing on my 64.
It was cheap and easy.
