5k convertor is fine on the street just don't idle in gear for a long time. Used 5000 and 5500 on the street for over 45 years and 0 problems. Just don't overheat, use a extra cooler, keep the fluid changed and a trans temp gauge. You'll love it! ps do not do burn outs in first gear!!!!
