I just completed rebuilding the front suspension on my 67 Barracuda small block car.
During this drawn our process I installed a set of NOS Mopar .890 torsion bars.
Before I let the car down onto the tires how much preload should add with the adjusters before I set it on the ground to adust the ride height?
Thanks
Jim K

I always buried the bolt till the bottom of the bolt head was about to brake the plane of the control arm, leaving the head out of the arm.

It really doesn't matter, but I do about what Alan mentioned above. Just make sure you don't tighten the pin nuts until the ride height is set.

I preloaded them 10 full turns after first contact.
I set the ride height today and had to raise the front anothet one inch plus to get it right.
I installed a set of PST spindles and polygraphite bushings that rotate on the spindle, torque them to 145 lb/ft and forget them.

The new front suspension worked out very well, the new .890 bars (thanks Al) really firmed up the ride. Now I just need to add the sway bar to finish it off.
Thanks to those who responded.
