Sniper EFI Return on Stock Tank With Drop in Fuel Pump; How?
I made my own return/in-tank pump "module" using a fresh sending unit with a 1/4" return already in it. I removed the 1/4" line, enlarged the hole and silver soldered a 3/8th's steel return line in it. I then drilled and fitted a fuel tight bulkhead style electrical connection to the sending unit, and added my fuel pump.
My system flows at near zero psi through two Permacool filters/water traps up to the front of the car, fills up my surge tank and free flow back to the tank. Notice I bent the return line inside the fuel tank to direct the returning fuel away from the pump's pickup. I also use submersible fuel line inside the tank, as regular fuel line will disolve.
On a related note. I had been using aluminum line as fuel line and mounting it securely to the car. I also use split rubber line anywhere it passes by an edge or anything sharp. I've since had an instance where the aluminum line was rubbed through and started to leak in what I thought was a safe line routing.. I'll be replacing all my aluminum lines with steel line directly.
