My Dart Swinger Project!

Got some stuff done today. I didn't get my driveshaft shortened but I got my oil gauge and water gauge mounted and hooked up. Got my tach hooked up and mounted worked on lining the fenders and hood up a little better. And mostly just let it run while I listened to it purr. Im having some issues with the temperature but im thinking it the sending unit. I broke the sending unit that came with the gauge off putting it in, it snaped right off. I had to easy out it. So I just used the factory style sending unit and my gauge is reading higher than I feel it should. I was letting it run idle and it was showing like 220, but with my hand held thermometer I was get like 190 at the water neck. So I was thinking the thermostat wasn't opening. The top rad hose was cold and the rad didn't seem that hot either. I let it cool and opened the cap on the radiator and put the mechanical gauge sensor in the water and started it back up I let it run for probably 25 mins or so the water temp on the mechanical gauge was 180 (water in the radiator) and the gauge in the car was at 220 so either im having a flow problem or the sending unit isn't compatible with that gauge. Im gonna let it cool completely down and see what it says if it starts at like 120 when completely cool ill know that's the problem
