Maybe my cheapest stroker build yet

Started back on my new 408 build for the 2021 race season. I just had two Cortisone shots at 11 this morning so I’m a little sore so I’m here sitting in my shop chair reading some posts. The budget build post caught my eye and I started thinking about my build and how cheaply it was going together. Shortblock is about done needing only the timing cover put on, damper, oil pump and oil pan. Some of these parts were bought over 12 years ago. Example K1 (4 inch crank) which I bought two of because the price was pretty good. Other parts like pistons were Wiseco pistons that were being discontinued. Block was freshly machined .030 over and he ended up going with a magnum engine

600.00 for machined block ready to build.
200.00 pistons
100.00 rings
250.00 K1 rods
450.00 K1 crank
150.00 cast steel roller cam
450.00 Bamm roller lifters
275.00 ATI damper
65.00 HV oil pump 30% off
350.00 balance assembly
125.00 bronze oil pump gear

Im up to 2735.00 plus rather cheap Chevy rod bearings and main bearings. Also bought a new milidon oil pan. A7039168-CA84-4C35-ABAF-E2E7B069031E.jpeg505218B8-5783-45A7-ADDB-37FB2AEF52C2.jpeg
