Slant Six EFI....

Pull the whole thing out of a mid 80's GM 3.8 TBI. Grab the MAF while your in there,
DeBiase EFI
self tuning! OR buy this kit. With today's scrap yard prices (especially the corporate yards in So. Cal) your probably better off buying this kit when our yards price used hood lift cylinders at $18/pc USED! I heard that at the price window an said, "yeah, no thanks on these...they are $12 new on Amazon..."

Go through the options and add:
Engine timing control
A medium length harness
An adapter to fit the TB to a 2 bbl intake
And the price is $1000.00

May as well go Sniper. Like I've said all along. Piss on EFI. lol

these are the folks that put together the GM tbi fi for like S10s and such for GM!!! great for a stockish motor and thay can re-tune it some by burning a new chip. im sure its dependable for more years and miles than any other tbi, but its limited like most factory efi's! this has been available for years long before fi tech and sniper tbi that will support any type built motor even with boost or N02 or any hp level! been discussed on here every time FI'in a /6 comes up that tbi not to much better than a carb on count of the slants intake, still would have fuel puddling issues and mpfi would be way way better

RRR- there is some reading about using very old technology on slantsix forum Fuel Injection for Street Rods

there is another article that slant six Dan shot me years ago using a v-6 3.8 Buick set up. I’m currently using the smallest tbi set up from FITech and not I love with it on a small displacement engine - it’s almost like it’s slow to respond. It wants a larger engine than a 273-318. Let’s face it tbi works but multi point is way cleaner and does not use the mentality of “just throw more fuel at it when it stumbles.”
The Buick system from the 3.8 is a batch injection set up and when matched to a slant six worked good when I played with it about 10years ago. But I had a hard time getting new proms burned for modification. the best I could get was a company I found selling stuff from JC Whitney who agreed to burn a prom for me after I agreed to send them a letter stating this was for off road only to Cover their butt. Not sure with newer emission laws anyone would ever do that.

use to be instructions on doing the gm tbi to a slant conversion on slantsix.org but it ant on there now??? heres link to how to convert mid 80s gm mpfi to a slant DeBiase EFI

and heres another one!
Fuel Injection for Street Rods

seems mass flow be the best way to go to me! the first year of fi on the ford 300 seems a good canadate for conversion....was a long detailed thread on this on slant6.org to but i cant find it now ether!

Old school all the way, Heck Yeah . . .

No onboard computer to mess you up either. Win, Win !

If you look, I have a QFT 450 on it. I'm trying that on this one, because of all the adjustability. All of the air bleeds are screw in and adjustable, as well as the idle feed restrictors. I had a friend just out ant out give me the carburetor because he couldn't get it to run right on his 300 Ford. It had 100% of all four transition slots showing and the choke was so tight it cut the circulation off on my finger. So I fixed all that. I wanted to try this one because the camshaft I had ground is pretty rowdy. Low lift, .465 but big duration 20 @ .050 and ground on a 108. It oughtta be really nasty sounding. I think the QFT will allow some better adjustment with that big duration. We're gonna find out anyway.

Like your reworked exhaust manifold a lot. Along with your 2 1/2" out the back exhaust system you will be Golden !!!

I think it will run pretty strong. This is the engine with the head that was "accidentally" milled .155". Chambers went from 56cc to 34cc. lol It's right on top of 10:1 static. The big cam puts it at 7.9 dynamic. Pump gas friendly. lol

I've never understood going to the trouble of switching to efi, only to use tbi.

I am waiting on the Gill welding kit. Should be in this week. Using the front mounted 70mm ford TB. MS2 controller. Utilizing the stock ign and a lean burn dizzy. Should be in soon. Bryce said he was sending it out Wednesday. Fuel injection tank kit from them also. Whole ditty ran about 3k.

Kind of agree, there are benefits to TBI over carbs,...but getting a precise and correct fuel map is critical. Lotsa luck. Lets take how many TBI's ran like suck right from Mopar, late 80's-early 90's Rams/Ramchargers-felt flat at times & gawdawful mileage, certain 2.2/2.5's where they missed the target & revised the intake to add coolant heating/cooling. The trouble & cost not worth settling for TBI, & ANY system really needs intake manny temp realtime input for the Slanty.
