THey want the old bent up one back. It's steel weight to them. If you don't have one to return you have to pay the price. Just like a alternator at the parts store. I bought a rebuilt and wanted to keep my original single pulley. I had to pay the core charge to do that. Rebuilt is different but the same. They want your old one back. You pay the core charge and get it back when you return your old bad part. It's a wash. It doesn't cost you anything unless you decide to keep the old part.
