I think it is great being able to go into a yard and pull the part yourself. I remember the old days when it was near impossible to get past the counter at the junk yard. For my hot rod stuff I appreciate the opportunity to walk around the yard and find that part that just may fit in with what I want to do.

Yep. We have quite a few yards here. Some will let you wander and others you can't get past the front gate. Another one is very professional and has scads of parts pulled, cleaned, tested and warehoused. That place is where you want to buy a used late model engine. Crated, computer terminals disconnected, run tested, sometimes new oil and filter. Oh and a warranty as well.
