Need to Identify a Hurst Shifter...

Found in the trunk of a 71 Demon project car I bought years ago...
It is a 3 speed
Welded shaft
Competition Plus
Patent Pending (no Patent numbers)
only numbers on side under the Competition Plus words are 404026
Has White ball shift knob.
I am thinking that the fact it is patent pending and welded, that it might be one of the first by Hurst.
