Speedometer Repair - Referral Request

You checked the speedo drive gear, right?
They can strip off the plastic teeth.
-Do you mean the speedo pinion gear at the transmission? It checked out ok.

Just a thought. At the back of the speedo head where the cable goes in there is a brass bushing. With you finger lube that bushing. This usually will take care of a jumping needle. I was told to use Vaseline (no joke) also pull out the cable from the housing and give it a good coating too.
-When I replaced the speedo cable I pulled the cable from the sleeve and put a light coat of all purpose grease on the cable before reinserting and installing. I did not yet lube the brass bushing at the back of the speedo. Can give that a try.

Thanks to all for the tips and recommendations! Please keep them coming. I will update as I make (or don't make) progress.
