I suppose a person could buy two of the cheap pumps and mount them in parallel with separate switches. Run one pump and if it were to fail at some point, switch over to the other. Redundancy rocks sometimes.
Outstanding idea I should have thought is as a helicopter pilot. I could engineer it so that I could bypass the one that pukes. At night trying to mount the new pump in a harsh storm would be a royal *****. Redundancy rocks.
