Got the A230 and bellhousing off the 225 and the 170 transmission and bellhousing off the 170. I'm done for today. I'll get the small transmission on the 225 tomorrow.
Are you planning to run a column shifter? Is that why you have a 230 clearance problem? Just wondering. I put a 230 trans and floor shifter in a 65 Valiant long time ago, using the original 170 bellhousing as I recall, and didn't have any clearance problems except, of course, cutting the trans tunnel for the shifter and putting in the floor hump.
