I was too, unfortunately my first outing was disappointing. Made two runs, lopped off only about .05 seconds off the previous best at this track ET, and picked up 2 MPH. WOW.....I know! Got a host of new setup issues to sort and knew that going in, but had to get to the track regardless. Main goal was to see how the current 3500 converter worked at the track. Not gonna cut it obviously, need to go big! (still really good on the street though) I need more time tuning on the carb, things are a little more challenging with the idle/transfer etc circuits for one, especially with the increased cam overlap. My plugs show rich, gotta hit some desolate back roads for some chops. I’m getting there though, a little too slow off the line as shown in the video, messed up my new settings on shift light and ignition box rev limiter so both runs i had issues shifting on time. It pulls harder and the times between (spreads) 60’, 330’ and 1/8 are all solid bests, but I lost .10-.16 on my 1.58 best (1.60 average) previous setup 60’ times. I’ve got a lot to work on before I have a solid opinion on the Trick Flow heads. No where near my cautious projections, skeptical I can work my way to them. Right now I’m at “starting over” and I’ve got a mess! One thing at a time.
