318 Build suggestions

72 J heads 1.88 intakes milled .040 to 65 cc chambers, Ferrea stainless exhaust valves, 71 340 stock intake and 72 340 TQ, 9.0 compression, custom Racer Brown solid lifter cam, 72 340 electronic distributor, double roller timing chain, a windage tray, balanced, decks equalized, bored and honed with torque plates, Speed Pro file to fit rings.
And this is why I don’t do car shows anymore. I have people telling me constantly I did it wrong as the very first words coming out of there mouth. They look, make a frown face, proceed to tell me how bad of a job I did.
(Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....)
Then tell me how they would do it of course. They assume I have absolutely no clue of what I’m doing and even less of what I did. Any who ask a question I answer. Then they follow up with half the information and no idea of the intention of the build and proceed to tell me it makes maybe 300 HP and how I screwed up really bad.
It gets tiresome fast.
Yeah and they pick your car apart "this or that isn't correct" and if they can't find that, it's "there's a scratch there, they need new side marker lenses, those look original etc.etc." nothing against young guys I used to be an a hole too but thirty year olds these days don't know chit except Hondas and VW's and cars they cant afford...LOL!

I had the OLs son over at Easter, he wasted no time telling me my Fox Body 5.0 was junk and he didn't know what the Dart was only thing he said about that was "four on the floor eh?" I don't remember being that full of crap when I was 30,but I was a professional mechanic working at ford dealer then, talking cars was talking work...I mean hes a good kid but full of it...

But I digress, so I am seeing a trend that 318s,the only thing used really is a modded short block, you arent getting the power with say, a cam and intake, 4 bbl stock heads etc.
