First ride of the season was a succes. Initial start up was exciting to say the least! I had carburetor gasket leaks, fuel line leaks, thermostat housing leaks, transmission cooler line leaks, yes if there was something that could be leaking I think it was. But after initial warm up and some minor tweaking things settled in, now she’s doing good. The only thing that persists is the stupid thermostat housing bolts! Is there some magic bolts I’m supposed to be using? Tires did well, they are a tad too far out. I’ll be looking locally for some big bolt pattern axles and drums so I can ditch the adapters.

definitely have to keep the air shocks pumped up in the back. Probably going to price some super stock springs, or go REALLY 70s and get some lift shackles for temp. And before everyone starts dogging me out for running air shocks and tearing up the mounts. This car has had air shocks on it for 20+ years!! And the mounts are just fine. Sunny beautiful day here in AK SHE IS ALIVE again

Nice duster. I have an old trick taught to me by my dad on the t stat housing. Tape a nice sized square of 180 grit sandpaper to a nice flat spot like a steel workbench top. Then work the gasket surface of the housing over on the sandpaper in like a figure 8 motion. When you periodically turn the housing over to look at your progress, you will notice high and low spots. Do this until its flat. Get a new paper gasket, and use permatex indian head gasket shellac on both the housing and the intake manifold. If your using an O ring housing, pitch it and get a non o ring housing.

Beautiful Duster, as the therm housing go's, I found that SS set screws I forget the length as studs and flange nuts work great. Never leak if things are flat.

Excellent. Well done. Nice colour and the stripes are great. As above great rake, etc., etc. My Duster also has air shocks. Perhaps the following suggestion may be of assistance in regards to the lift was to install a main leaf out of a station wagon. This set up has worked great. The air shocks never came down in air pressure and the ride was great.

I did something similar that finally stopped the trickle from the housing, studs, with stainless marine grade nuts and inside lockwashers.

Beauty! I agree #6 and #8 for posters!
For thermostat bolts, drain enough coolant to get bolt holes dry. RTV the bolts and install. Let cure 24 hr before adding coolant.
Breathtaking scenery:thumbsup:

Killer stance, nothing beats Meats in the back
