Drive shaft help

A 66 Valiant or Barracuda driveshaft is what you need. 66 is the 1st year for slip yoke shafts. In 67 they lengthened the wheel base on the Valiant/ Barracuda so that wont work. And Dart has a longer wheelbase than Valiant/Barracuda 63-66 so that wont work. And a side note that all Valiant/Dart wagons share the Valiant wheel base.

The extra wheelbase from 67 on was all ahead of the trans crossmember. Engine/trans is in exactly the same place pre- and post-67. So: you can run a 67 or later Plymouth A body driveshaft (except for Dart based Plymouths like the Scamp), so long as the donor car has the same trans and rear end. I.e., 904 to 904, 727 to 727, 7 1/4 rear to 7 1/4 rear, 8 3/4 rear to 8 3/4 rear, etc. Most A body A833 trans used the same size output shaft as a 727, but some of the early ones (and maybe a few later ones) use a 904 size output shaft. You'll need the correct size yoke.

For example, the bellhousing, driveshaft and 8 3/4 rear end in my 65 Barracuda came out of my Mom's old 71 Duster 340 that my brother rolled (he was unhurt). The Duster had an A230 3-speed manual, which was the same length as the 69 A body four speed in my 65 Barracuda, but the output shaft was 904 sized, so I had to swap the front yoke. Otherwise, the 71 Duster 340's driveshaft simply bolted in my 65 without modification.
