My brother sent me some pics of a friends car that is supposed to be a special package with a Slant 6 running 2 carbs and a hood that appears to have Sport Fury bulges and signals .
I have never seen or heard of such a car. Was this a Dealers Special Edition like a Mr Norms car ?

Nope.

Custom build with Plymouth Fury hood bulges grafted into an A hood.

And as far as this part goes;

that appears to have Sport Fury bulges
- The bulges were not limited to the Sport model, my 4-door came with the same hood.

Yea that's aftermarket customizing. It didn't come that way from the factory.

Not factory but a dealer upgrade special edition is what he said .
I recognized the Offy intake but not the hood . I asked Shawn to get me pics of the whole car and ask him what dealer it was supposed to have come from. My first reaction was a modified Valient. The guy also has some Road Runners and such I am told .

Not at any factory though. No original dealership did that either.

Someone's blowing smoke at ya.
Nothing to believe with that "story"
Just an upgrade that somebody did with aftermarket parts.

I kind of figured it was done by an individual but thought I would ask .

Not all builds have to be blinding fast .
I would love to do a 64 Valient with an alloy slant and alloy OD 833 just to see how light you could get it and max mpg. It would still be quick due to power to weight .

Quick is a relative term. Grandpa was quick at 88 compared to his bud that was 101.

Home made but cool.

I'd like to see the whole car.

I texted my brother and asked for more pics . The guy lives 2 hrs north of the Twin Cities.

Yes the hood looks like it took a lot of work to make . That is why I doubted it was a mass produced or even a short run piece.

Nice work, nice to see detailed execution like that, cool ride..

mbaird, I don’t believe I’ve seen a 2-2bbl set up, a 2 singles set up I have. No, I don’t think Chrysler would have done this, dealer put together possibly, after market in somebody’s shop or home garage good chance. I put the Super Six set up on my 70 Dodge 225 in a 70 Challenger, added a set of Hooker headers and it runs and breathes well. Here are some pics. Thanks, Al

The "hyper pack" four barrel is the only factory high performance slant six package I'm aware of.

1962, IIRC.

That intake is a Offy and I believe you are correct . It is a dual 1 bbl not 2 bbl.
Nice Challenger ! Those are rare. A friend bought a slant challenger in Seattle back in the late 90s and I drove it back to Idaho . It ran great !
