Just realized I am paying to much for BEER!

As a veteran I’ve asked for discounts frequently especially if they advertise it. The service ID card , which you only get to keep if you retired at 20 or more years is mostly the one they accept. I couldn’t figure out why this area has many places advertising for veterans discount. The Villages which is a huge sr retirement community near me ,it is largely retired vets. It pisses me off that guys who retire vs those of us who didn’t technically retire ,
But served anyway, would get discounts. WTF
Because it's a veterans discount, not a "retired veterans discount".
I have friends who did 20 in the Army, never saw the first deployment.
Then I have a few friends who did 3 years and was deployed for nearly all of it.
Does being being in the military for a lessor time make you less of a veteran?
I don't think so.
The DOD and the VA has established the amount of time and the conditions of discharge to establish veteran status.
