Just a guy with his first project car...

Good morning all. I will have pictures on Saturday after we get the trailer so we can pick it up. It has the 273 2 bbl with the A-904-LA TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission. From the Service manual (which I found here. AWESOME!) it should have the 7-1/4 rear end though I have not verified. Tom, the previous owner, said it has had no modifications. I verified the engine and that the shifter is on the column. Upholstry is a wreck, one big mouse nest, but amazingly the headliner is pristine. Floors seem to be in good condition. I found one small quarter sized hole on the drivers side but will know more once I get the carpet ripped out. It has a bit of exterior rust on the quarter panels particularly around the wheel wells and at the back by the bumper. rear bumper is trashed. There are a few places where all that is left is the chrome. Both front fenders have been replaced. Definitely a project car. I am already looking into seeing if I can rent a rotisserie somewhere near here as I don't have the room to just buy one. Sunday, I am going to work on seeing if I can bring the paint around. It is heavily oxidized with a bit of patina at the edges but mostly intact. Detailing is one of the areas I am pretty good at so we'll see.

Welcome from SoCal!
Sounds like a great project and having your wife onboard with it is outstanding.
Your '67 rear bumper is also a 1-year only item with the back-up lights in the bumper.
Found this one online but I have no idea about quality of the piece...
Find 1967 Dodge Dart 170 270 GT Rear Bumper RECHROME in Adairsville, Georgia, US, for US $495.00 (2040-parts.com)

Thanks ocdart. I also found one on ebay that needs a little love and has a hitch welded to the bumper brackets. I figure I can use the ones on my car to delete that hitch contraption. Will definitely take a look at the one you shared too.

And pictures are coming very shortly.

Since the wife didn't feel much like wrenching tonight, i spent some time seeing if the paint is savable. Cleaned a section, took comet to it to remove the oxidation, and now it is soaking on Meguires #7 overnight. We did test to be sure the engine wasn't seized. Tomorrow we will be pulling the plugs, soaking the cylinders in Marvel Mystery Oil, checking all the fluids, and so on. Electrical looks great for all the mouse **** I have cleaned out of it so far. Will pick up a battery soon.

Welcome to FABO and your first project car!! Looks like the paint will clean up a good bit.

In case you aren't aware, Chrysler used left hand threads on the driver's side up until around 70. Look for an "L" stamped into the end of the wheel studs. Most shops nowadays don't know and they snap all the studs trying to take them off!!

Thank you! Would not have known that little tidbit. you just saved me a wheel hub. lol.
I am sure at this point this thread has moved beyond "welcome." I will find the appropriate forum for future updates.

Welcome to fabo, that's a great starting point for a bad *** mopar.

And I have successfully talked the wife into going Resto Mod. The compromise is we have to keep the paint original...for now.

Those look awesome. However she is bent on keeping and reupholstering the bench seats herself. Something about wanting to sit right next to me while we are cruising on date night.
