Many years ago, when I was in paint and body school, I had to do a graphic stenciling project so I painted a grim reaper on the hood of my car. The little Barracuda was always looking for a Ford or a Chevy it could take away so I thought that was kind of fitting. People started calling my car the Grim Reaper and pretty soon folks began to call the owner and operator Grim Reaper too. It has stuck with me for pretty close to 50 years.
