If you have to change neutral start switch, have a good size catch pan ready. Atf will fall out.

Ok....so next time it does it, rig up a jumper wire from the terminal that the yellow wire normally plugs onto, to a ground. I usually squeeze a ring connector on one end, and take a screw holding the starter rely off, clean the bottom of the head of the screw, and then put the ring connector on the screw and tighten it back down. Put a push on female spade connector on the other end, and plug it onto the lug you unplugged the yellow wire from. Then see if it will start with the key. That will tell you whether it's the starter relay or the neutral safety switch.

You lost me on this one... I'll have to read it like 10 more times to not understand it still lol

Did he say, ground the NSS terminal at the starter relay??
Yes, he did. Relays have a hot side and a ground side, and the starter relay gets it's ground from the NSS. If the ground section of the starter relay fails, it will not see the ground that is supplied by the NSS. You can simply ground that terminal ON the starter relay to test and see if the car will start with the key instead of having to jump the hot terminals with a screwdriver like we have all done in the past. It is NOT a good idea to just ground that terminal, and be a cheap *** and continue to just use the car that way. It will now start in any gear.....which ain't a good thing!

^^^^ I admit to have had a few push button cars, but the one I ave now, I can never get the cables adjusted right. Either in drive or reverse, and trouble with getting it in neutral too! Finally got drive and neutral but NO reverse!!! ha So yep, I grounded the NSS for now, still is!!

No car stuff.. cleaning, sanding and packing... going to make the back yard tables nice so we can sell them.

Tops and in between the cracks on top are almost finished... the paint was so thick.. ended up using paint stripper and then sanding... still not completely, wish I knew an easier and quicker way to to it.

Here's what I am hoping they will look like... wondering if I should do one a lighter color on one of them...

Do you think it could be the NSS? It acts like the battery is dead when it won't start again, but will start when jumping it from tbe starter relay.

I have a 3 prong NSS in my 727 transmission will that work with my 904?

I dont have an electrical tester thing. I did however post a wanted add for a starter relay and ignition switch... heard it could be one of those as well?

My 80 power wagon used to give me grief, the connector never seemed to fit right, i unplugged it, heated the boot up and snapped it back on. Hasnt skipped a beat in 20 plus years.
In park or neutral,if i recall the centre pin grounds to the case, completing the circuit for starter relay.
I cant say for sure if switches are the same, between 727 and 904.
But there are 2 different lengths of switch.

I'm going to post a new thread because this is weird.

My car starts up just fine when it is cold. It runs like a champ! When it's warm is when it acts like a dead fish in the water...

So this could be a relay getting overheated or something else?

Have you looked at the connector on transmission yet?

Another thing to check would be the big connector block where the wires come thru the firewall. If there is trouble there, it will usually be a bigger red or black wire. The connector will look all melted around it. Check inside and out.....happens on both sides of the firewall.

I've checked the bulk head a couple of times but will check it again. My wiring harness looks pretty good besides being totally painted black.

Some causes I've experienced were bad coil, bad ballast resistor, and gas boiling in the carb.

I'm going to assume none of that is the problem because thats all new and has all been addressed in the past year lol. But it's an old mopar you never know right?!

...also a sticking choke. Or maybe the jets are pretty far out and the choke (when cold) mask it.

Update!

I liked Joplin, Monett and Neosho. The Dr was very nice and his offices were nice, but I am not taking the job with him or moving to Joplin...

I'm moving to Springfield Missouri at the end of June!!!! I met with another Dr there and it's the perfect fit for me... they were amazing... except for the fact that I was given just a touch of I'll advice which caused me to miss my flight back to Vegas from Springfield... with my graduation tomorrow....

600 dollars later, I'm in Kansas City Airport taking a flight back to Las Vegas and will be home tonight at 12pm to make my graduation Tomorrow!

My view from dinner in Branson Missouri last night!

Oh and the tables are finished after 1 more coat! My wife did a great job on them.
