My 360 Engine is running reverse once turn off.

I work on boats for a living
And have had a few Engines run on/diesel
And yes they do go from running std. Rotation to counter rotation sometimes when you shut the key off until they knock, clatter, bang, fart and die...lol
Usually overheating, bad gas or timing most common.
Of course this doesn't only happen to boats just my experience being next to a Engine watching it.
Harder to see in a car..

I had a outboard run away on the hose
Revved to the moon!
From carbon build up in the cylinders
Could not shut it off!
It was spinning over 8000 rpms and I pulled all the plug wires, still wouldn't die
Until I shoved rags into the carbs.
Kinda scary being right next the flywheel
With a motor screaming like that.
