I bought a set of ten ross custom dished pistons for a B1head with a 4.625 stroke (!) 7" rod, for a quarter of what they cost. Believe it or not, the pin is not in the oil ring.
I did some calculating, and with a 4.375 crank and 7.1 rods, they are only some .030 in the hole. I can either deck the block or leave it be. With 4.35 bore, its 520.
The only question is where the valve reliefs are, will they work with maxwedge victors. Id rather not run B1s to avoid having to spin this motor high enough to use B1 airflow.
Aftermarket block? You bet B1s, and spin away!
