Stop in for a cup of coffee

Part of the testing is to pull 5000 pound trailers through Death Valley with the A/C cranked... Death Valley is so hard on cooling systems they have signs posted there to turn off your A/C so your engine doesn't overheat... Our testing was to put them through worst case, so they pulled max trailer loads with the A/C cranked to be sure that the engines did not overheat and the customer can remain comfortable with the A/C on...

Death Valley was about 70 miles north and hang a left from the house , when I lived in the old country. It wasn't uncommon for me to tell customers at the gas station who were concerned about summer desert temperatures and their traveling plans "Turn the AC off and roll down the windows. It will help cooling the engine if you turn the heater on while the windows are down also." Just past that left turn is this lovely stretch of road called Baker Grade. 900' elevation to 4100' in 19 miles 3% grade, no flat lands until the summit. There were 2 rest stops in the climb if I remember right, both had large water tanks for the overheated victims. On the plus side, it doesn't take much right foot action to descend a constant 3% grade and the fuel mileage is greatly extended .
