Stop in for a cup of coffee

It wasn’t an Orlikon, it is a flak 38 in 20mm. And yes I do. That was my dad. His vest stopped most of the shrapnel, a lot of bruises and some cuts and powder burns. But he’s fine. It destroyed the receiver and extractor but he had spares thankfully. The extractor stuck in his vest, just in front of his heart. Very lucky.
That said, I’m pretty sure that was the last time he took it out and fired it. He won’t admit it, but he’s become scared of it since. And rightfully so. That was an incredible boom.

If that is the time I am remembering, then we were standing right there and Dad is the one who got the Paramedics when we saw him collapse.
