Has anyone dealt with Magnum Force Suspentions?

I've been looking at there front Coil Over Tubular conversion, a bit costly but it does look like it is well made.

Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ken

If you aren't totally sold on coilover suspensions I woud look at member 72bluNblu's posts and see what you can do with a torsion bar suspension. I did and have just about everything to start putting my Valiant's suspension together. It took k-frame welding, big torsion bars, reinforced lower control arms, big sway bar ..... There are lots of threads on that and I would just recommend looking at 72bluNblu's comments.

As far as coilover suspensions go, I have the Alter-k-tion and after comparing prices it's about the same cost as a full tilt torsion bar system WHEN you figure in a Borgeson power steering system and a brake kit. You'll get a rack and pinion and Wilwoods with the Alter-k-tion.
Remember to compare with QA1's full system. Probably the value leader in building up a torsion bar suspension if you're not already starting out with some good parts.

Reilly Motorsports and Magnum Force aren't the only players in the game either. Check out HemiDenny.

Magnum Force doesn't have the best reputation and frankly, it scares me. Unless you are going to do a lot of chassis stiffening and reinforcement to make up for it's weak areas it seems kind of sketchy the way the coilovers are supported at the inner fender. I'm not really impressed with their Upper control arms either.

This is all for you to decide for yourself but I will tell you I'm very impressed with my Alter-k-tion and I do believe I'll be very impressed with the torsion bar system that I put together based on 72bluNblu's and Peter Bergman's (Bergman Autocraft) input.

I don't have one ( coil over set ups ), but if I was going to put one on my car it would either be a HDK or Reilly Motorsports. no way I would ever bolt that Magnumfarce crap on anything I own.

When I do my front suspension, I am going the QA1 route. The torsion bars keep the center of gravity lower, and move the mass of the springs to the rear AND closer to the center of the car.

Well, I've got one of their front suspensions. I had a sway bar link come loose off of the splined bar and the car kinda pole vaulted (at 75 MPH) on the freeway, when the passenger tire turned 90 degrees to the road after the tie rod broke. Not necessarily Magnum Forces fault, but when I called them and asked for help, they denied that they ever sold me the front suspension. Even when I told them I was not placing blame, etc., they refused to help. They refused to sell me any replacement parts or tell me who I could go to for help. And, I had gone to their shop (in Campbell, CA) to pick up the front suspension when I purchased it from them so there was no doubt where it came from. I'd run away from Magnum Force as fast as I could.

From what I have read and heard these are the best ones
HDK Suspension
RMS
GTS

a friend of mine bought one from a guy named tory shellehamer. he has a 70 dart that is a super trick sb that runs 8.80 per my buddy. this man is on fb and the kit for paul's dart was under 2k. might pay to look into that one also.

The owner, Ron Jenkins, is a huge douchebag too. Watch any show he's been on and you just get bad feels from the guy. There is an episode with him on Graveyard cars and I think another one I've seen. Not impressed with his style.

There is a thread of a Magnumforce UCA breaking on a member. Either on here or FBBO. I think while in his driveway. I dont think I would mount one if it was given to me. I think it was a bad weld if memory serves me correct.

Thank all of you for the comments and info.

I appreciate it.

I have had one on my 68 fastback for about 10ish yrs. , no trouble at all, the engine isnt sitting on it tho (motor plate)
I do keep a close eye on things tho, just because of the badmouthing on here .
I have called mag.f. a time or two , got the info and the coil over springs I was wanting , seemed nice enough to me -----------jfyi

Honestly, the first person in 15 years I’eve heard say something positive about MF. Not a good sign.

Curious, FB. I’d your car caged or have j-bars?

home made j bars, and 6 point cage , didnt want to put a roll bar in it , but knew the engine would twist the body up.

I utilize HDK on my cars. The fit and performance is unparalleled. And if you have any question at all you get to talk to the owner himself (Denny) he will patiently answer your millions of questions. Ask me how I know. His actual passion for the sport and genuine determination to do what is best for your car has been proven over and over again on this Forum. By same token the previous advice reference asking Trublu is solid in the event you go torsion. He is yet another wealth of knowledge and experience. JMHO

Just to speak up for Bill Reilly, respectfully, I think your statement about “unparalleled “ isn’t accurate. I’ve seen both and have Alter-k and they are on par with each other. Both have beautiful welds.
Bill, like HDK, answers his own phone and will talk however long it takes.
I went off-road in my cuda and bent a shock tower, totally my fault, and he said send it back. That’s on the to-do list.
I think with Gerst, HDK, & RMS, you’re getting a quality product. Not trying to be, “ I’ve got X-product so it’s the best.” type of guy.

stay far away from those guys.. years and years of horror stories with that system if you look around the net.. early on they had welds breaking. all along they have serious geometry issues. if you want the best and most proven tube R/P set up out there right now then give bill at RMS a call.. Front Suspension

I don’t disagree, just no experience with the ones you mentioned, I do in fact have experience with Magnum force, as a result I simply chose silence with regard to them and an alternative. Point well taken.

Point well taken.
Didnt mean any disrespect. I think we’re both at the same conclusion of HDK and RMS being the better of the two coil suspensions AND 72blu knowing how to steer someone in the right direction for torsion bar systems.

I have Alterkation 85,000 miles on it no problems. Look at magnum force reviews on other websites FBBO FEBO. They aren’t good reviews. The only people that put Magnumforce on their cars are people on a TV show.

The only gripe I have about mine is , it is a dragracing suspension , drives great on good roads but not the best on curves at hi speed , welds are one thing I watch ---

and thats only a couple.. over the last 20 years or so there have tons of posts about how bad their stuff is and has been on all different mopar forums.. i can't believe people are still buying that junk.
