I am a life long Mopar lover/owner but new to this site!
I was 12 years old when My 70 year old Grandma bought a brand new 1974 Dodge Dart Sport. Dark green, white top, white stripe. When my Grandma passed in 1986 the car only had 16,000 miles and had been sitting for many years. My Dad got the car and drove it for a short time before giving it to me. This was a very cool car but it had slant six. I soon built a hot little 340 with a very lopey cam and drove it to shows and the Mopar Nats until I bought my 440 1969 Dodge Charger in 2003. The Dart sat in my pole barn for years until I gave to my son after he graduated from college. My son is now in the middle of a complete rebuild fom paint to drive train and I couldnt be happier. He hopes to pass it down someday also. Pictures soon to post in the Photo Garage.

Welcome Karl nice car and glad to see it stay in the family.

There should be a "super like" button for that story!

That’s an awesome story and exciting to see it still continuing too! With each generation you don’t know if there will be interest/passion in it to keep it going.

I can relate to your story since it’s the same with me and my Scamp. My grandmother bought it new back in 1975 and I’m the caretaker of it now.

Hi, I love a great background story.
Thank the young one for taking on the restore!

Welcome to FABO, I love the car and the story behind it.
I am partial to the Dart Sports, especially dark green '74s.
Check out my build thread at the bottom of my post if you have time.........
