GM is a better generalization. Its galvanic corrosion. Been taught that for 20 years when dealing with aluminum body panels and steel sub-structures. There are special washers that insulate aluminum panels from ferrous metals. Cant happen very well with engine components. Doesn't work well with bodies either.
The engineer that designed the aluminum/steel combination caught his wife sleeping with a mechanic or body man :BangHead:
