Drove a new Ram TRX today !!!

-
I wish they would offer that, & the Power Wagon, in a regular cab too. I am SICK of all this 4 door only crap. Not everybody needs or want's 4 doors on a truck. I'm pretty sure plenty of others feel the same as me.
So true, I cannot stand a 4 door truck, I have two late model RAMs both are standard cabs, one is a 8' bed, the other has the 6.5' bed. I use my trucks, as a truck not a commuter car.

Here is a TRX for you

Intermittent wipers too. Gotta have those. I'd nix the power widows. Rubber floor mats but that's probably extra these days.

Nothing worse than being unable to roll down a window when electrical problems rear their ugly head. Years ago I wanted a commuter so I ordered a Neon with every option except power windows. The salesman looked at me like I made a mistake.

Sadly most of these trucks will end up to a less then glorious life of pavement pounding. Most people can't see fit to spend 70k plus to just tear it up off road.

It’s so sad, in the latest 70s my brother bought a new fully loaded 79 F250 4x4 and he drove that truck everywhere as most truck owners did. Trucks weren’t so costly in comparison to the costs of a high end car. Why is there such a spread in cost between cars and trucks now? Makes no sense to me.

It needs to LOSE those back doors!!!!!!
I'm currently looking for a newer dodge truck but why is a REGULAR CAB with an 8' bed so freaking hard to find especially in something besides white?

This was a vehicle that was stolen ended up in a police chase and wrecked Front bumper was twisted already removed for further inspection it will be getting all new suspension on the left front as well as complete new frame

Because they can. "Everybody" from soccer moms to corporate executives wants a truck. Whether they need one or not. It's crazy. (And "everybody" wants a 4-door truck too.)

Because they do not make them anymore, all regular cabs now are chassis trucks.
I looked for a long time to find my 8' standard cab truck that was not white, one showed up at a local dealer but it was new in 2017. First new vehicle I ever bought for myself.

A new TRX lined up against me at a test and tune this spring. I thought it was just a Power Wagon.. Looked over/up at these 35" or bigger tires and chuckled a bit. Then it commenced to run a low 12!

That makes absolutely no damn sense. Not everyone has a crew to haul around.
And why I see can and 1/2, Ford's and Chevys all over the place, why dodge dropped that configuration completely is also beyond me.
My problem with the newer trucks and the nearly total switch over to crew cabs are that with that silly useless short bed they come with is so out of proportion they look like a cartoon caricaturist designed them, and then that bed that is so short as to be totally useless as a truck.
Why do they all have to rival the fanciest Cadillac? More useless fluff that inflates prices well beyond stupid. I'm happy with a rubber mat, crank windows and a 5 or 6 speed along with 3 pedals.

I did not know they quit making 8 foot beds in a 1500 I do know that they make the three-quarter door instead of the crew cab which gives you a little bit bigger bed

Must be a US market thing since you can get a regular cab with 8’ bed here in Canada. Granted it’s the previous style (classic) but it would still be a new truck.

2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman or Big Horn can still be had in a regular cab with an 8' bed. Will you find them on a dealer's lot? Probably not. But you can still get them. Ford sells a 2021 F-150 XL or XLT in 6.5' or 8' bed / regular cab too. F-250 with 8' bed and regular cab too. ThIs is in USA.

I have more than my fill of Fords being a fleet mechanic for the state of IL.... no way. have always owned Dodges all my life.
Ive thought of going 3/4 ton, more than I really need, 95% of the time.

Bought a new 86 D150. 8 foot bed 318. It was a heavy half ton. Had AC rubber floor mats. That’s about it. 13k out the door.
I had a 74 4 door 3/4 ton. Built 318. Thing would pass almost anything but a gas station. Pull down a house and drag it away... 4:56 dana. Loved it. Rhat 4 $ gallon had me trade it for a 01 Dakota 4.7 5 spd. The asshole I traded it to sent it to LQK. Bastards
