We were trying to stay here but things didn't work out and before you know it we were moving.
40th?! That's so young and exciting.

Wow! Got the whole house and car all loaded up in 4 +/- hours. Dart is loaded on the trailer and packed full of junk. The only thing left to put in the trailer is the mattress that I'm sleeping on tonight. Tomorrow I'll leave bright and early, hopefully stopping in Amirillo Texas for a "good" nights sleep before the 2nd half of the drive on Monday.
I've never towed a car before or driven a truck and trailer anywhere near this big before. Is the car strapped down enough? Straps on front tires connected to the trailer. Chain link around the 3rd member and then another strap from the frame on drivers side, around trailer to the frame on passenger side. I have more straps I can put down but don't know where to put them.
Ps- Cassidy enjoyed posing with the dart on the trailer, since she is the one who helped me load it up.

Hey DD just check your straps for tightness several times on day 1 as everything settles in, then check em for security in the morning, evening, and everytime you have to stop for a pitstop. Check your trailer to truck tow chains, and trailer electrical connection daily too. Easy enough to eyeball it all and check strap tightness every time you have to stop for fuel. Give yourself a lot of room ahead of you to stop in an emergency. People on the roads are stupid. Go easy, use common sense, and you will be fine. You will be passing 5 hours north of me. I'm in Abilene. Have a safe trip.

Every word of @moparmat2000 post is spot on. Especially the people on the roads are stupid part. Just take it easy.
Check to make sure the trailer lights are working: running, brake, and turn signals.

Sure would be nice to be able to lock the trailer to the truck. A wheel lock would be nice. Have a safe trip.
It's a damn shame we even have to think of that. I long for the days when people would leave your **** alone.

I'm going to miss you! I wish I got to come hang out again before leaving. I'm sure I'll be back in town quite often since our whole family is still here.
I know what it's like to live estranged from family. I live in northern NJ, most of my family is in central PA, but some live in SLC, UT. My wife grew up in Philly. Her mom lives in south Jersey. We are probably closer to family than you will be, but I can still relate.
Oh I'm not going to miss my family that much, my wife she will miss hers though. I'm mainly going to miss @70aarcuda

Maybe disable the dart so nobody can hot wire it and pull it off the trailer when you are sleeping at night. Easy enough to remove the rotor, and remove the ballast resistor and put those in the moving van.

Well the dart is loaded 100%. They'd spend 30 minutes just trying to get the seat cleaned off to sit in lol.
I can undo the NSS bypass wire though, takes 2 seconds.
I got some strapping of a car tutorial from a fellow mopar friend, thanks @halfafish! The car is now much more secured and these straps are rated to 3300lbs each. both straps wrapped around the rear end to keep it planted and from jumping off the trailer.

That looks a lot better! Good luck on the trip, and it will be a good adventure for your family. I'll give an AMEN to what @moparmat2000 said about people driving stupid! By the time you get there, you will be glad you became a Dentist instead of a Truck Driver! Try to only park where you can pull thru when you stop, and you will be fine. Backing a short trailer with a big truck can be done, but it's a pain in the butt if you don't have a lot of wiggle room. Have a safe journey!

We made it though!
Fun trip. Made it safely and the house is 70% put together.
Now to finish the last couple of things... like fix back windows and fix ac since I will be daily driving it for a month or so....
