Hi,
I have been lurking on the forum for a few months now, mainly trying to see if I could find a deal on the right car.
Well I didn’t find the deal on here, but I did just purchase a 1966 Valiant singer 2door. It had been sitting for sale on another forum that I am on for over a year, and the guy lowered the price to 300.00 so I jumped all over it. Hard to beat that, especially since it is a two owner car with title!
This will be my first major restore, and I am looking forward to doing the project with my oldest son.
Details on the car:
1966 valiant two door
Originally sold in my home state of NC about an hour away from where I Live
Originally silver with a red interior
170 auto car
Power steering
Heat
No ac
Manual brakes
Front buckets
Drums all the way around

I have no plans on restoring it back to original, mainly looking for a hot little cruiser for the wife and I to take out on dates. It Needs patch panels in the lower quarters (front and rear), a hood, and some some floor patches(not worthy of complete floor pans).

Welcome from Texas, I'll be in your state this weekend to pickup some glass for a friends F body Volare.

Thanks everyone for the welcome wagon, look forward to posting more on it, trying to be done within a couple years.
My plans for it are pretty simple, mainly looking to do a healthy v8, 4 speed auto with a reverse manual valve body, manual steering and power brakes, fix the little bit of rot and then a lot of priming, blocking and sanding ect…
Im sure I will have lots of questions along the way, this is the earliest a body that I have messed with

Welcome to the site. Great place for parts, info and experience.
Great car!

You're into quite a conversion and restoration project there! I'm 14+ months into a '66 project too, and I didn't have to convert the drivetrain! I still have months of work to do.....mainly waiting on parts. Good Luck!

Welcome aboard. You have a great platform to start with. I,m restoring a 66 Barracuda and it was rough compared to what you scored. Good luck with your project and enjoy.

Welcome from another NC Mopar guy! Looks like you're more towards the eastern part of the state. I live in the mountains on the western end. Looks like a nice early a project you scored there! Let us know what you have in mind to do to it, and we can hopefully point you in the right direction.

Thanks I appreciate it, I’m still mulling it over and waiting to see what the car wants. Going to start on it this weekend getting it stripped and continue on from there. I know I need some patch panels, a hood, and a drivers side fender, been looking around NC and haven’t come up with anything yet
