Stop in for a cup of coffee
:soapbox:Somewhere engineers pat themselves on the back while I curse their existence...
Went to autozone and got a piece of fuel hose for the chipper. The old one was 19.5", so just grabbed the 2' piece in the blister pack. Carefully cut it to same length as the original routed it through the very tight passage between the cooling fins and flywheel using Dawn soap to get it to slide over the bracket. Attached to carb, put cover with pull cord back on, tank on. Look at bottom of tank and the fitting is on opposite side. :wtf:
While very different looking, this tank is sold under the same part #. Thinking at some point, they changed carb and got the inlet in a spot so they could use a short fuel line that does not route through the engine. I don't want to take all apart to put in a longer piece and I don't like just adding a piece with a coupler that says "I f'd up" LOL. My solution - will stop at Home Depo and get a fuel shutoff valve to add in the line.
