uncle tony's garage gets called out by the roadkill guys

Ok, one more time.....

Some of you might want to read v e r y s l o w l y......

This isn't something that was/is recommended as an alternative to building a serious high performance engine. It doesn't discount proper machining of cylinder walls, or having the proper finish/ring combination. It's not something you're going to do on a full, high perf build because you won't be putting stock pistons in your build. Fo rhte most part, this is something that was recommended 40 to 60 years ago when these engines were new and people were doing curb side builds with a come-a-long strapped to a tree.

The "fact" that this makes some power that would otherwise be lost to the friction caused by "STOCK" pistons, with a STOCK offset pin, in a "STOCK" engine, has been around for several decades and was in "FACT" proven by three very famous people which was shown previously. Friction is the enemy and NOBODY would seriously dispute that, yet this topic.. whoa boy...

It's pretty much "common sense" that this would free up a few HP. Is that enough to warrant a bunch of new gaskets and time/effort to do it? I don't know, probably not to me, but one never knows. If I'm competing in something that requires only stock parts, then yeah, I'd probably do it. But, i don't so I won't.

The amount of bashing of someone for so called "Parroting" of this "FACT" is amusing and disturbing. So MANY talented and successful engine builders here....acting like butt hurt children who got an ice cream cone knocked out of their hands by UT.... and they can't let it go.... because he spoke the truth....

I'm curious how many of you would call out Vizard as a parrot when he had said it was a thing without having said he's tested it?? Heck, I'd go as far as to say if you had heard Vizard or Yunick mention it before hearing UT mention it, ya know cuz it's not a new idea...... you'd be talking about it in a positive way. SMH...

At the end of the day, we're all here for one reason, cars, and more specifically, MoPars... How productive is it to bash someone you don't like because YOU can't accept the fact they were right?

I wonder how many of you would take the flat earther side if UT "parroted" the FACT the earth is ROUND....
