I think people forget that UTG on purpose does things as a "budget builder in his driveway would do". He was offered a really nice welder, but declined because the "common Joe living week to week" doesn't have one. When asked about a lift for the shop, he said "after thinking about it, the common joe doesn't have on in his driveway so the shop won't have one".
