I was going to say Dutch "Golden Age". They were known for their Realism and seascape and maritime scenes were common.
I took several art classes in college for my humanities requirements. My mom is an artist and sent me to a couple of art camps in the summers. My daughter got more of that gene and is going through her charcoal and pencil drawing phase while refusing structured lessons. She's one of those people with extreme talent that has a laissez faire attitude towards art.
