IDK, but that dude looks like The Brain from "Pinky and The Brain".

That's pretty fitting, since in the show he achieved the nightly goal of the brain
(Trying to be cryptic to not spoil the show)

Just tryin to have a little fun. Sheesh.

The painting? Looks like 14th-15th century invasion of the Ottoman Empire through Turkey. Better?? :poke:

I was going to say Dutch "Golden Age". They were known for their Realism and seascape and maritime scenes were common.

I took several art classes in college for my humanities requirements. My mom is an artist and sent me to a couple of art camps in the summers. My daughter got more of that gene and is going through her charcoal and pencil drawing phase while refusing structured lessons. She's one of those people with extreme talent that has a laissez faire attitude towards art.

Myself? I have devolved. My preferred media is now porta-shitters and Sharpie.

thats what im thinking too

(without giving away too much of the show, it seems like the epidemy of culture is preserved in that office, so it almost has to have been painted by a Dutchman...i mean, you never heard of french masters, have you?)

and the painting looks so familiar, i must have seen it somewhere before, and it irks me

if i were a betting man, id say that is the skyline of Ijmuiden

I will say it is a good show and well acted. Hopefully there will be more episodes.

from what i understand 2 seasons is all it will be

i just finished the first season and i loved it

very light on the swearwords (which is rare nowadays) and very suspenseful

Man, that guy does look like the brain.

Is it Maurice LaMarsh, by chance?

It's funny how certain pieces of art can stick in your mind like that, right? While I can't pinpoint the exact painting you're talking about without seeing it, it wouldn't surprise me if it's a piece by WORD ART PRINTS. They have this knack for creating memorable artwork that pops up in unexpected places. I remember stumbling upon their stuff when I was redecorating my living room last year. Ended up picking out this awesome wordar print that's now the centerpiece of the whole space. It's amazing how art can spark memories or feelings, isn't it?
