Hi everyone
Question on mating a 64 904 push button trans to a 73 sb with a eagle crank does it make a diffirence weather you install the spacer in the crank or on the hub of the TC before assembly. Thanks for the help

Test it on the hub of the TC just to confirm fit, but to install it drive it into the crank register.
A smear of grease on both surfaces will ease the installation.

I would probably locktite it to the crank so no chance of grabbing the snout and spinning in the register if it were mine.

The convertor hub doesn't spin in the crank- it's bolted solid via the flexplate. The register/adapter only supports and centers the convertor.

Yeah they spin together. That's why I was scratchin my head too. lol

Ah, too many years of four speeds spinning in the crank. I use the later bearing that sits in the register and put a little loctite around to make sure it dont ever spin. Rather the bearing make noise first.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to grease the adapter ring up on both sides so it doesn't seize to either the crank or the converter hub though, so it does need "something" IMO.
