Converter with 1.550” nub builder needed

I went to PTC for a converter. I filled out the spec sheet and talked to them on the phone.

They knew I was swapping in a 2001 5.9 Magnum with a 1966 A904. But what they sent was a 9.5" converter for a large input shaft of a newer 904. When I called, Kenny just said you should run a large shaft anyway.

So, I had to find a core and rebuild it. Left a bad taste for PTC.

So 66fyssh- I’m confused about your last post quoted above. I need the smaller 66 and older crankshaft nub, or register but want the larger input shaft set up from the 68’ and newer (larger input shaft, front pump) is that what you got?

I am contemplating rebuilding the factory 904 but then loose the ability for part throttle lock down from the newer (1974 904) transmission. Right now I cannot seem to get a “custom converter” shop to build anything other than a “off the shelf” converter. You figure if they make converters and are as most put it- “The Best” they would know how to make a converter with a front register that was custom sized. They tell me the register to fit an in molested 64-66’ crankshaft is “custom.” And they cannot do it. I’m very frustrated for sure.

thank you to everyone and your input on this. The search goes on! Somebody must be able to pull this off for me.
